Substances

Any chemical element and its compounds, with the exception of the following substances :
i. radioactive substances as defined in Article 1 of Council Directive 96/29/Euratom(*) laying down basic safety standards for the protection of the health of workers and the general public against the dangers arising from ionising radiation;
ii. genetically modified micro-organisms as defined in Article 2(b) of Directive 2009/41/EC of the European Parliament and the Council(*) on the contained use of genetically modified micro-organisms;
iii. genetically modified organisms as defined in point 2 of Article 2 of Directive 2001/18/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council(*) on the deliberate release into the environment of genetically modified organisms.(*)
