Materials previously used (non-virgin: those that are recovered from waste streams or other sources as well as materials found in used products or components) and reintroduced into production cycles, reducing reliance on primary resources and minimising environmental impacts. For example, recycled materials as well as re-used, repaired, refurbished, or remanufactured products or components.
